Kelly Fritsch was born and raised in Western New York. After graduating high school, Kelly attended undergraduate school and earned a degree focused on paralegal studies. She began employment with a law firm in Niagara Falls, New York where she discovered an interest in family law. Kelly met her husband, Clay, shortly thereafter and relocated to Houston, Texas.
While working full-time as a paralegal for a boutique family law firm in Houston, Kelly earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and her law degree from South Texas College of Law. While at South Texas College of Law, Kelly spent two summers clerking for the Honorable Russell Austin in Probate Court 1 of Harris County.
In 2009, Kelly was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and began her career as a family law attorney by joining the law firm of Golda R. Jacob & Associates. The firm transitioned to the partnership of Jacob & Fritsch, P.C. until Kelly opened her own law firm in 2014...
Kelly has extensive experience handling a wide range of complex family law matters, including contested custody disputes, complex property issues in divorce cases, modifications, enforcements, bench trials, jury trials, and appeals.
Kelly is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, a Member of the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists, a Member of the Houston Bar Association Family Law Section, a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a Member of the Texas Bar College.
Kelly also spends time giving back to the family law community in Texas. Kelly currently serves as a board member to the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists and council member to the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is the former Chair of the Houston Bar Association, Family Law Section after serving for eight years. In addition to her leadership positions, Kelly also contributes as a committee member to the Pattern Jury Charge Committee for the State Bar of Texas.
Kelly has been recognized by her family law peers being honored with Texas Monthly’s Rising Star designation in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and Texas Monthly’s Super Lawyer designation in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
When she is not practicing law, Kelly enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time outdoors with her three rescue dogs, kayaking, paddle-boarding, reading, and working with the amazing members of Imagine A Way, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children on the Autism spectrum obtain necessary therapeutic services.
